Description: Extreme, unknown information such as approximately how many cups of coffee the participant waitress has poured over her career (945,000) is revealed through a thorough fact gathering process. By altering the familiarity of everyday objects and placing those objects in a public context, people’s voices and the hidden value of their work is revealed. Hidden Value investigates what constitutes achievement and where society attributes value through looking at the “everyday” individual’s impact on community. The project provides recognition that the subtle things people do in their work lives make a valuable contribution to the whole and are the substance of our daily lives.
